Ah, Pizza

On Christmas Eve, Reagan made a request for "ah, pizza", it was very clear and he was very adamant. It reminded me how far his language has come in the last few weeks. I have been cataloging his words over the past few days. I was going to wait until he was 2 to post them, but he has so many new words every day that I can't keep up and am already missing many!

One somewhat unique thing is that he usually says "ah" before saying a word. I made this observation to Chris who said "ah, he will probably do that for the rest of his life." Family traits run deep!

There are 82 on the list, but he probably has closer to 100.

A few days at the beach

The weather has been incredible in CA so we rented a house and headed down to the beach for a few days. Here are a few of my favorite pics.

We are in San Antonio for Chris's younger brother's daughters' 1st birthday (triplets). The party was at their mom's office. She runs a Pediatric clinic and has an amazing office!!

I took my first business trip since we had Cooper last week (I was supposed to go to California for work last year but Reagan ended up in the hospital the day before...).

I left a day early so I could get back for Halloween, I just couldn't miss it!

We were softies and couldn't make Reagan wait until we got home to have some candy. Both boys LOVE lollipops. Reagan was literally searching through the candy at each house looking for lollipops. ;)

A conversation between brothers

This morning as we were eating breakfast, Reagan put a Lego fireman in to a Lego dump truck.
Cooper says, "Fireman don't drive dump trucks"

Reagan responds, "Why?"
Cooper, "Because fireman drive fire trucks and fire vans."
Reagan, "Why?"
Cooper, "Because they put out fires."

Reagan seemed satisfied with that answer.
=)

Cooper - Ladies' Man?

I was walking Cooper to school earlier this week and ran in to the mom of a girl in his class, she had a story she wanted to tell me.

She and her daughter, Isabella, were talking about marriage, and how you were supposed to marry a boy. Isabella declared that boys were yucky and she definitely did not want to marry a boy. Her mother than started going through each of the boys she knew and Isabella declared them each "too yucky". When she got to Cooper, Isabella stopped and said "I could marry Cooper."

This made me strangely proud. My son is not as yucky as the other boys! ;)

Why? Why? Why? Because. . .

Reagan still has far fewer words than I would expect considering how well he understands us and how well he gets his point across. However, he has picked up his brother's favorite word, "Why?". I have tried to explain to him that most kids learn a few more words before picking up on asking "Why?" all the time, but he simply responded "Why?". ;)
My absolute favorite is when Reagan is asking "Why?" and Cooper answers "Because". I swear I try so very hard to not use that as an answer to Cooper's questions, but it must be slipping in. . .

Sometimes things can get a bit crazy in the morning. Unfortunately my best weapon against this is the iPad.... I feel guilty about it most of the time but then sometimes this happens, and I convince myself it is ok. ;)

We missed you Mommy Lou!

Mommy Lou had to spend last week in the hospital. Luckily she is feeling much better and will be coming back to us next week, with Grandma by her side to help out.

I am not sure who missed who more! She joined us for a bit today for a trip to the park.






Oh, and Reagan now appears to think he is too old for his stroller. That is, of course, unless his brother tries to sit in his place...
