Sometimes pitiful crosses over to cute
This video is from last week when Cooper wasn't feeling well. (Forgive the shaking and patting noises, I had Reagan on my chest at the time.)
Things to note:
1. He is still wearing his sleeping bag.
2. If you look carefully you can see Lou start to crack up in the background when he starts saying "I'm sad"
3. While pitiful, I couldn't help but also to think this was adorably cute!
I have attached my understanding of what he is saying for those who aren't fluent in Cooper:
not there, police van, not there, police van, police van, police van, not there, police van, police van, oh!, police van, can't find it, I can't find it, no, i can't find it, i can't find it, i'm sad, i'm sad, i'm sad, i'm sad, i'm sad

The Buggie board
We had our first outing on the buggie board today. (It allows Cooper to stand or sit and supposedly hold on to the handlebars.) However, in our case Cooper found it was a great position to harass his brother from. Amazingly Reagan slept through 30 minutes of pokes and prods, only to wake up after we dropped Cooper off at football and cry all the way home...

He is so well behaved - sometimes...
Cooper was so well behaved during his haircut today that the stylist made several comments about it and rewarded him with extra stickers!
He is well groomed and ready for his tour of the US!

The baby burrito is back!
We hadn't gotten in to the habit of swaddling Reagan, but since he cries and wakes up in the middle of naps a bit more than we would like, we decided to go old school on him today and see how it went. (We are going to call it a success for now - two hour nap with only one intervention needed.)

And after:

And after:
Understand?
In the past few days I have been asking Cooper if he "understands" what I am saying. Specifically I have been doing this when he is going to bed as we try and make the transition out of the crib, setting boundaries has become very important.
Tonight he started to turn the tables on me...

Bye, bye crib?
Cooper has been sick all week and woke up very distressed around 11:30 tonight. We got him some milk and some medicine and then I lied down with him to wait for meds to kick in and then put him back in his crib.
When I tried to put him back in his crib he very strongly refused. (I always get some pushback, but this was extreme.) So I let him know I was leaving to go to my own bed, which wasn't a problem for him.
I am now staring at the video monitor expecting him to either fall out of bed, or at least climb out. So far he just seems to be exploring how much more room he has.
Could this be it? Are we done with the crib??

Cooper at 2
I neglected to do a 2-year post for Cooper, so here it goes a few weeks late.
Approximate height: 37 inches
Approximate weight: 32.5 lbs
Approximate head circumference: huge. . .
Cooper talks a mile a minute, and constantly surprises us by the things that he says. I have no idea how many words he knows but it is probably somewhere between 500-1000. I thought I would write down a few of our favorites.

- Excuse me (To both people and objects when they are in his way)
- Thank you, Daddy (Favorite person to say this to is Daddy, but the rest of us get it every now and then as well)
- No, thank you
- Please (only when prompted...)
- Good job (Said to me when I have done something like stacked a bunch of Legos)
- What's wrong? (if someone is crying)
- Yeah (Response to "Are you ok?)
- Kiss it (The other response to "Are you ok? Wants you to kiss the spot he just hurt.)
- You ok? (if I cough)
- Scared (I'm scared, tractors scared (from the movie Cars), "Scared xx" - xx usually being anyone who might becoming to take him away from me)
- No likee (an oldie, but goodie - still one of his most used phrases)
- Happy/Sad (mostly used to state the emotions of other people, not himself)
- Itch/Scratch ( he actually uses them correctly, Grandfather would have been very proud)
- Dogs barking (we have a new thing where I set my phone alarm and then he has to get in his crib when alarm goes off and dogs bark)
- Switch (if he wants to switch places with you, or objects that you are holding)
- Other room (Pronounced "uder room")
- Buildee House (Building fort out of couch pillows)
- Baby brother (Luckily mostly said in a happy tone!)
- Mommy lie down (When he wants me to lie down in the bed in his room as he falls asleep)
- Get out/Move it/Over there/Close door/Another one (A few of his common commands)
- Can't have it (when he has taken something that I am trying to get him to give back - usually said while running away)
- I do it/Mommy do it
- Mommy's turn/Cooper's turn
- Present (anything in a box that is delivered by mailman or found in my closet)
- Too high (when something is out of reach)
- Porsche/Ferrari/Lamborghini (both his toy version and the real thing)
- He knows his basic colors.
- He can count to 14, although tends to stop around 8 when counting objects.
- He is starting to feed himself but tends to get bored with it after a few bites and hand you back the utensil. . . (his father calls it theoretical completion)
- He loves sleeping, goes for about 11-12 hours at night and 2-3 hours during the day.
- He thinks his dad is the funniest person in the world - I imagine this will last for at least another few years!
